The Journal of Faith and the Academy welcomes article and review submissions from anyone wishing to examine the academic enterprise from a Christian perspective. We especially encourage submissions from faculty and students at both Christian and secular institutions of higher learning.
Articles: Proposals for articles of 3,000-9,000 words should be sent to the General Editor, Dr. Joshua Fullman. Each query should include a 150-word abstract of the proposed article along with the author’s name, title, institutional affiliation, and contact information.
Book Reviews: Proposals for book reviews should be sent to the Associate Editor, Dr. Jason Jewell. Reviews of books by a single author should be 1,000-1,500 words, including both a cogent summary of the book’s contents and a critical evaluation of its methodology and argument. Volumes of essays by multiple authors or review essays of multiple titles may exceed this limit. Reviewed titles need not deal with a religious theme, but we do ask that the reviewer bring an explicitly Christian perspective to bear on the book’s subject matter. Unsolicited book review manuscripts may be accepted for publication, but prior communication with the Associate Editor is preferred.
Style Parameters: All submissions to the Journal of Faith and the Academy should be in MS Word format. Manuscripts should contain footnotes rather than endnotes and conform to the Chicago Manual of Style (16th edition). Manuscripts should be double-spaced in 12-point Times New Roman font.
